What do you believe about love?

Posted on Dec 12th, 2007 by Asha : close to you Asha
This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for December 12, 2007:

Love is for the beloved. It is being willing to transcend oneself for the sake of another. It is SEEING another person for who they are, and being willing to work your butt off to help them become who they are. Love is feeling heartbreak for the myriad beings who are suffering all over the world, as well as right next door, or in your own house. Love is crying for those. Love is wanting to fix the broken hearts. There is no self in love.

"The lover is but a dead thing, the beloved is all that lives."  - Rumi

I'd have to say I agree with this but would add one more thing….

After all that……love is taking ACTION for others.

You seem to have a pure heart.

thanks

By the way, there is no “I” in Love, but there is an “I” in PHISH!

I agree, Fee. Love is definitely taking action for others. Putting out money where our mouth/heart is. Or our hands, or whatever we have to give.

I like to put my left hand in.

Then, I take it out and replace it by putting my right hand in…..

THEN I SHAKE IT ALL ABOUT!!!

Thanks Asha. You've got some good things to say and lots of time and space to soak it all in!

Soooooooooooo

Did you listen to the Phish show? Do you know who they are? Have you been to any cool concerts?

Dear Fee,

Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to watch any of that concert before the blogs were reposted (without the comments that had been there previously). That's where you gave me that link.

Thanks though. I think I saw that you had the link up somewhere else, perhaps on your own blog. I'll check it out sometime.

Love,

Asha

Hey Asha, thank you! I will repost the link. It's not a video, just audio so you listen to it when you have some time and feel like groovin! It's a New Year's Eve show and it was my first Phish New Year's Eve show.

Later on, for New Year's 2000, they played an outdoor weekend, in southern Florida and they came out a bit before midnight (after already doing an afternoon set) and played straight through sunrise, without a break. It was one of most incredible experiences I've ever had. To watch the sun rise as your favorite band is playing with 70,000 of your closest friends! Simply unbelievable.

So here it is and thanks again! Have a great night

Love

John
